Not that I know of... of course, someone has to believe there's a leak
and if so, find it and fix it...

kppp runs 2 processes, 1 as user and 1 as root; it's the user one that
leaks...

I was doing some testing today and discovered this tidbit (not yet
confirmed)...

1. Pushed some traffic across a ppp link and saw the memory creeping up.

2. dropped power to the modem; gives error 16 (modem hangup)

3. requested details; got complaint that "Debug" was not on. Saved the
stats which showed 2000099+3462408 bytes transfered. Enabled debug.

4. Restored modem power and restarted link. Debug is now recording
traffic. Interesting that the rate of memory use is virtually identical
whether debug is on or not...

On the surface, it appears that while debug is off, kppp likely still
records all the traffic. Turning debug on gives you the ability to dump
the packet contents...

BUT... if debug is *off* and no packets are dumped; *why* should kppp
still log the traffic...? (my main suspicion at the moment)

Pierre
