Not sure what you are looking for but you can try a couple of simple tests:

run 'hdparm /dev/hdx" (x = hard drive)
run "'hdparm -i /dev/hdx"
This should tell you if DMA is turned on, and what mode you are using, i.e. 
UDMA4 or UDMA5.
run "hdparm -tT /dev/hdx"
This should give you some speed ranges of your drive.
