The ISDN support in 8.1 is alpha quality. I thought it shouldn't be an issue to set up an ISDN connection to the internet. I was wrong!
The recommend isdn-light is configured that only a user with root password can use the internet, that sucks. The dialing tool net_monitor is buggy, fails to start a connection or thinks there is a connection when there is none... Alpha quality software. And then, all the documentation that is NOT available. Then ther is a program that wants to resolve the name www.mandrakesoft.com (DNS), not once, no every few seconds. That destroys every timeout and feeds the internet provider. Is there any quality assurance or is the paying customer the alpha tester? Sorry if i'm a bit bad tempered but the so called support has not cared to answer since the 22. of January and i can't solve it by my self. Haug B�rger
