This is not fun. ;) I have an Epson Photo 785EPX printer. It prints just fine. Except when I try to print from Gimp (of course, it will print text just fine, but try to pring a photo quality pict... HAH!).
Ahem. What I'm seeing in the logs is: <---------------------> Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: hub.c: USB hub found Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: hub.c: 2 ports detected Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1/3/1, assigned device number 7 Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: printer.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 7 if 0 alt 0 Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1/3/2, assigned device number 8 Jan 31 00:11:07 darkstar kernel: usb.c: USB device 8 (vend/prod 0x4b8/0x602) is not claimed by any active driver. BUT: I can still print from an "lp" command. I don't get it. What am I missing here?
