Kursad,

We have almost identical units and I remember that I had to disconnect the IDE
in order to boot from the SCSI but that may be because of my lack of experience
with Mandrake.  Otherwise, the system would boot from IDE and then use the
SCSI as other partitions. If other people found a way around this, please let me
know; thanks.

Subject: [expert] kernel panic after/while mounting with enterprise kernel

Hi guys,

I have setup two thunder k7 before with mandrake 8.1 but now I have great problems. The problem is this time I have used a scsi drive Fujitsu MAN3367MP but the problem is I have parity errors and linux can not read/write with installation cdrom. When I disconnect the harddisk everthing is fine. The installation process has no errors.  I select to install smp, enterprise and the standard 2.4 kernels. Then the problem starts the system boots with enterprise kernel I have a kernel panic right after/while /dev mount the error is something like cannot reach end of device. Filesystem used is XFS. I don’t know the problem if you can help me I will be pleased. The system can boot up with standard kernel and work flawless. But I can use only about 8xx memory. Also do anyone know that if enterprise kernel supports smp system or not.

Regards,
