Understanding what is supposed to happen is key here...
Spruce can fetch mail directly from your mail host (end-point for your mail before
reader gets it). Now, when you use fetchmail, you are using it to move your mail to a
new "end-point"; normally used to bridge the gap between Internet visible mailhost and
local non-Internet-visible mailhost.
Once fetchmail has moved the mail to your local host, you could access it with spruce
by pointing it to your local mailer (sendmail/postfix).
The gotcha here is that you do not appear to have a local mailer setup to received the
mail from fetchmail... Try "telnet localhost 25"... betcha it doesn't connect...
The fetchmail loggin could be more specific; but...
POP tries and fails to deliver locally:

Ditto for IMAP:

Since you didn't specify a "proto" on lamar, it retries with POP:

Setup a local mailer... I prefer postfix and you can see my configs (including trials
and tribulations) at http://pfortin.com/Linux/PostFix
Just be aware that my mailer is an Internet-visible endpoint, so I don't need or use
fetchmail...

Yep... the one you "skipped"... :^) Sorry, couldn't resist... still waking up...
LOL
