What are you trying to do? What are you trying to | (pipe) into date?
If you just want the current date and time, determine what format you want it in, then set that in the script. Is this as shell script, or perl script? curdttm=`date +%Y%m%d-%H%M` What's this echo $blank that you have? And to the best of my knowledge you can't really pipe stuff into date. I could be wrong. But if I need the day of the month, or something like that for a script, I specify it with something like today=`date +%d` Then use $today in the script. Maybe with a little more information we could be of some more assistance. tdh -- -------------------------------------------------------------------- T.
