I am using Mandrake 7.2, and have an old SoundBlaster in the machine. I used sndconfig to configure the system, and I heard Linus talking and the midi sample fine.
When I try to use xmms to listen to an .mp3 file, it plays, but extreeeemly slooooow. It sounds like you are playing a 78 rpm record at 33 rpm, or more so. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Bruce
