For retrieving mail from isp, use 'fetchmail', fetchmail will deliver mail to the
local /var/spool/mail/***, check the man pages and also this list archives. There are
also GUI's for setting up fetchmail.
For mail delivery, I use 'sendmail/postfix', this delivers the mail to external
addresses but also delivers internal mail to the /var/spool/mail/***. Also there is
'webmin' which makes 'sendmail/postfix' configuration a bit easier.
It looks like your machines are exposed to the WWW, check the archive, I posted a
iptables config for a firewall last month. As for your web server, I pass on that,
never done it.

Subject: [expert] Internal Server and Firewall Conf
I am trying to setup a network with the following configurations:
pentium mmx 32mb floppy no harddrive linux router using coyotelinux3.1
(modified lrp (linux router project)) -Router/Server
| w-(12.10.34.68) l-(192.168.1.1)
|
---------------------------------------------------
| |
| |
amd k6-II mail and http server pentium 4 development workstation
static ip (192.168.1.10) dhcp (192.168.1.100)
I can not see my server on 192.168.1.10. I honestly don't even know
where to begin to configure a mail server to draw email from six email
accounts and send them to one user let alone two other external email
accounts to another internal user! Any advice would be appreciated. I
primarily would like to get my webserver configured and then all the
rest is secondary.
