ok, remember, send hardware info with hardware related questions. while many of us are helpful, I know of none of us who are empathic. you need to check your mobo manual about how to disable onboard sound. there is likely to be either a jumper on the board itself or some bios setting. then you should be getting all of your sound through the SB card. some mobo's are smart enough to know to disable onboard sound when you put a sound card in the first pci slot, but it never hurts to disable it altogether. if for some reason you need both cards enabled and you just want the sound to default to the SB, consider a better sound board.
