Yes, it had crossed my mind but: How do I go about setting a new $PATH before the old ones (that is without deleting them). The alternate symlink also 'flew by', that is: /usr/bin/java is not a link but a shell script that executes Kaffe. I could change it to execute JDK (that would be /usr/java/jdk.xx.xx-x/bin/java in my case I suppose) but I just am being cautious there in 'terra incognita'.
