If it's just for testing or comparing a while, you always have the option of 
booting the other Linux (as many as you want depending on Hd space) from a 
boot diskette. Just don't install the boot loader on your HD. That way you 
can always make it bootable through lilo if need be and........ don't have 
the hassle of keeping track which one is where and with what kernel. Just 
label the floppies well:) They can all share the same /home if need be but 
it's not advisable.
