When I execute <echo $PATH> as root, I get the following path listing:

/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin

When I execute <echo $PATH> as a user, I get the following bogus path setting (notice
the double slash and double colons):

/usr//bin:/bin:/usr/bin::/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/games:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/games:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/games:/home/n0sq/bin

What would cause the problem? I looked at the bash profiles for root and user. I don't
see anything wrong. I explicity entered the path setting in place of the $PATH
variable for the user profile. That fixed the problem.
