Go into the SoftwareManager and configure another source for your RPMs. It sounds like you're using an older mirror. Click on "Define Sources" then click on New. Select "Security Updates" for the TYpe of Source. Click on "Update the List of Mirrors". Select a source that's geographically close. It will take a few minutes depending on your connection speed. Click on OK when done. You can either rerun the MandrakeUpdate or use the software manager screen to fetch them. E.g.: Select Updates, click on flat list, select the packages to be updated, click on Install. Or you could just fetch the updates directly through FTP, which is the way I do it. For this, ftp to one of the sites listed in the Mirrors page (either from the Mandrake website or from the list that appears in SoftwareManager). Grab all the needed files from ./Mandrake/updates/8.1/RPMS. Then rpm -Uvh the files.
