Are you sure that you just pressed Enter? Normally you'd do something
like this to write and unencrypted file:
vi filename (where filename is an encrypted file)
(enter the correct passphrase)
:set key=
(make sure to press Enter right after the equal sign)
:w filename (write the unencrypted file back to disk)
