Unplugging some of your CPUs and sending them to me might be a good idea :). But seriously, I figure you mean 'processes', not 'processors' as in CPUs :) but it's perfectly normal to have background processes running, and the system should disconnect background processes run by users when they logout, unelss preceded by 'nohup'. > Mark
