Scenario: Dead monitor temporarily replaced by a smaller, lower spec box. Of course this machine is set to auto start X, but no problem - Alt-Ctrl-F2, login - ready to fix.
But what do I edit? Thought it was /etc/X11/X86Config-4, but that provides refresh rate ranges, not the actual rate to be used. TIA Brian
