Calm down and listen. My question was "is system mail for root going to
nobody". So the answer is
yes, not no.

Tim are you sure? Indulge me, and run a "grep mailbox_command
/etc/postfix/main.cf", and post the output
here on the list.

uncomment the previous line to read 
  root:           root


I agree all looks good with your aliases files. Just make the one
correction and send your grep output.
