Due to a bug in the ide driver, I need to pass 'pci=conf2' or 'pci=off' at
the command prompt when booting Mandrake 8.2.

I have tried different way of installing it, including (CDROM, Hard Disk,
network, pcmcia) and all halted at:

in second stage install
install exited abnormally :-(
sending termination signals...done
sending kill signals...done
unmounting filesystems...
        /proc
        /tmp/hdimage
        /tmp/stage2
you may safely reboot your system

Alt-F3 reveal:

*trying to load /tmp/image/Mandrake/base/mdkinst_stage2.bz2 as a ramdisk
*mounting /dev/ram3 on /tmp/stage2 as type ext2
*stage1: disconnecting life support systems
*second stage install running (DrakeX v1.684 built Sat Mar 16 12:21:08 2002)
*running: /usr/bin/insmod_ 2> /dev/tty5 /tmp/af_packet.o

My machine has 240MB memory and I can install Redhat 7.2 from boot disk with
the same 'pci=conf2' without any problems.

If you know of a solution, or some pointers, please let me know.

Regards,
Daniel
