Folks, I need your help!
Over the weekend I installed LM 8.2 on my system at home. The system
is a tri-boot with W98, LM7.2 and LM8.2. Specifics are:
AMD K6-2/233 w/64 Meg and VXpro chipset
#9 Imagine 128 video w/4 Meg VRAM
The install went fine untill the X window install. Xconfigurator
could not get the system configured. I have tried every combination of
resolution/color depth but X still won't start. Under 3.3.6 I get the
fatal error "no screens found" Under 4, I don't get the no screen, but I
get a similar error. (I'll check when I get home)
What is strange is that it all works great under LM7.2, but won't
start under 8.2. Any suggestions on what I should try? I have compared
the config files /etc/X11/XF86Config under LM7.2 and 8.2 and they look
the same for all practical purposes. Any help would be appreciated....
