Yes -- it is sleep'ing between checks. Currently I'm watching
/proc/modules for the appearance of the scsi and usb module loads. Do  i
need to do something specifically to allow the system to quit checking
if there i no activity? I thought that the PM would do this
automatically?

In any case, I believe I'd still prefer to  have the app kicked off from
some sort of callback rather than this watcher proggie.
