Hi Udo,

When it comes to figuring out what a mailer is doing, it pretty much can
only be done if one has access to the config file(s)... I should have
indicated "IMHO" since it was mainly an *opinion*...

See http://www.mengwong.com/misc/postfix-uce-guide.txt where it's clear
there are an ENORMOUS number of combinations and permutations possible
when configuring one's postfix mailer... Just about *any* assumption can
be proven/disproven with this variability...

There is no guaranteed way to determine the reaction of a mailer based on
a sample of one since there are so many rules, location, order and types
of "exit points" (REJECT, IGNORE, WARN) which can be applied to an
infinite combinations of envelopes, addresses and headers...

I won't use "not true" on your comments since there are so many
possibilities... For example, you didn't say what your mailer sends in
the HELO/EHLO command and we don't know what Mandrake has for restrictions
on this... see http://www.postfix.org/uce.html#smtpd_helo_restrictions
for what can cause a rejection -- and this is just the EHLO/HELO...

Then, rejections can still come from such things as:
- client
- sender
- recipient
- headers (could be "/spam/ REJECT" for your case :^)
- etc...
