Hi Everyone, I am quoting to setup a customer who wants to use Windows workstations, and wants full features out of M$ Outlook on the workstations.. So far I have quoted to setup the whole lot to use MS XP server, with M$ Exchange..
Well I am not that keen on this MS Exchange setup, anyway, I have just discovered a product that could enable me to use a Linux Samba server, with all Linux standard mail stuff, and well as Linux Ldap server.. Now this is what I am more comfortable with! ;) Couple of things that I discovered.. http://www.bynari.net/bynari/insightcon.html InsightConnector (tm) allows Outlook to function on more robust and reasonably priced servers. http://www.arrayservices.com/projects/Exchange-HOWTO/ A howto to run like exchange on a Linux box.. Hmm I wouldn't setup like that,(I have much better methods of setting LDAP) but it's a good insight on how it can be done.. Anyway has anyone tried anything like this? Any comments? It's a very good chance that I may now do this server with Linux. Cheers Mark Williamson
