   The 2gb limit should have left us with the 2.0 kernel However heres
an intresting article that starts us on the road to multiTERABYTE file
sizes.

Found more info, seems we are limited..... to a 2 terabyte file system. 
I'm personally curious on this because I just did a backup of my home
directory and a re-install when i moved to 8.2 and my /home tarball was
11gb in size, I moved it from my main drive to a 13gig Maxtor all done
in reiserfs without a hitch.... of course it wasn't a quick move. (moved
off while I slept one night, while at work the next day.)
