thanks Ken, I'll check into that to see, but I set "markw" up with the express idea that this would be the default user account for the machines logging to the LAN. it should be just a generic user account. thats why that log entry caught my eye the way it did. -- daRcmaTTeR ---------- Registered Linux User #186492
