One question is your version of Putty using ssh1 or ssh2. The only reason I ask is that someone today showed me that the reason someone (a possible customer) was having trouble ssh'ing into a test server was because Putty (the version he had) used ssh1. If your's does.. get a newer one. 2 is a lot more secure. Not much of a windows person so I don't know what version does what but the logs showed an ssh1 connection attempt rather than ssh2.
