Brian, What switches are you using for your mount command? You might want to do a "man mount", and take a look at using the "soft" option. Maybe even using the "n" switch to keep the the entry out of "/etc/mtab". At any rate, the old RTFM will take you a long way in understanding what is going on when you mount. BTW, I am not keen on putting my nfs mount points in "/etc/fstab". Seems like a fire waiting to happen. drjung -- J.
