If I remember correctly, Civ's point of view was regarding issues of speed, and was not in reference to stability or data integrity. As for Reiser, there have been users on the list here that have had Reiser puke on their systems as well. As for ext3 stability, I have had several power outages and have not experienced data loss yet (knock on wood). That doesn't stop me from doing backups, tho. At the same time, I would'nt want ext3 maligned because of misperception or small statistical samples. With regard to filesystems, there's no need to look for a universal panacea, cause there isn't one. Yet... Best Regards, LX
