FWIW: I'm having the same problem on an older IBM PC. Irritating! I'm running MDK 8.2 on another PC at home, and it behaves perfectly. The difference may indeed XFree86 4.0. I'm running 3.x at home. I haven't tried it on the one that freezes up yet. Might be worth a try. Ric
