I tend to use emacs a lot more, but vi and visudo are still very important to me. I have not had a problem with vi grabbing CPU ever. It is a nice lightweight editor with a neat way of keeping hands on keyboard.
jabberd has given problems (eating available RAM) on every single box where I tried it and I tried it on all just to verify that it is most probably a memory leak. I will be campaigning for its removal next distro unless it gets fixed. Civileme
