I finally managed to download enough of KDE 3.0.2 to install and run it in replacement of 3.0.1. The konsole-noxft nonsense is, thankfully, eliminated so it seems. What isn't corrected is the initial startup wizard which insists on coming up with each login regardless of whether it is your first time or not.
I cannot recall which config file to edit to kill that bugger. Can anyone remind me which kde3 file needs to be edited to kill the first time startup wizard? praedor
