Yeah, that's cool. You just install the correct libgcc* and libstdc++* libraries which are compiled with the same version of gcc that your application is compiled with and all is right in the world :) I took off on the kernel slant when I should have been more general (I had just read that email a few minutes before so I had it on my brain I suppose).
