This is something I was having a conversation with Guillame (I hope I
spelled it right if not I apologize.) On dealing with Autoconf
specifically. I've run into this wall a number of times trying to build
or use applications across a number of distributions. It would seem to
me that there should be or maybe can be a way to cross this line so that
RPM understands some-app.i386.rpm and some_app.i386.rpm and
some.app.i386.rpm are really all the same. With Mandrake I run into it
most often with autoconf. (it looks for 2.5.x and 2.53 doesn't satisfy
it.) Until finally I just built it from source, rpm'd it and installed
it. (All because I like Keramik go figure *grin*) Any thoughts on how to
pursue this matter. I'd like to do that without causing any problems or
stepping on toes.
