Hi list,
I have a linux box with a fix IP within a class. Also in my
network there are others computers (Windoze) within another class with
their IPs set by a DHCP server.
I'm trying to figure out how to set a IP alias to eth0 but I don't
know which IP address to set. I mean, I know what "ifconfig eth0:1
'a_ip_address' up" does but I would like to get a free ip from our DHCP
server and so set this alias.
How could I do to find out a available IP from the DHCP server?
Perhaps, later, I'd be able to build a script to do it
automatically or, better, MDK can do this but I'm not knowing how to
configure it.
I would appreciate any idea here.
