i have amount point that is owned by the ordinary user 'bascule' when i mount my nfs share of mp3s on it - done by the following in fstab watson:/home/music/mp3s /stuff/mp3s/mount nfs intr,bg
the mount point is shown - and all subdirectories and files - as being owned by another account on the system, the account is my daughters, rarely used and the group is xgrp, is there an easy to understand set of rules for how perms and ownership are set when mounting things? this has me foxed, it doesn't matter as such i can still play the mp3s and it's a readonly filesystem anyway but still, i would like to understand this bascule -- "Yes, it's the right planet, all right, " he said again. "Right planet, wrong universe. "
