I just upgraded to Mandrake 9.0. Gdm used to work just fine, but now it doesn't want to start on boot. Kdm does work. When I try to run gdm (as root) from the command line I get the error message:
# gdm -nodaemon & /usr/bin/gdm-binary: error while loading shared libraries: libgnome-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such fle or directory How does one go about troubleshooting such an error? Am I missing a simple RPM? (Though I wouldn't think so after upgrading from CD.) My msec level is 4, if that helps. I'm also having trouble with evolution now also, but if the solution to the gdm problem doesn't solve that I'll go into that in a separate post. - Kathy
