That is correct. You did *not* do what you were told.

1. The part about removing stuff is ok.

2. Now, what you did was, you *copied* the remains to the CD. You did
not make a new ISO!

3. To make it short:

If /foo is the directory where you have the remaining part which
has to be put back onto the CD then do:

  mkisofs -o Mandrake90-cd2-ext.i586.iso /foo

This will create the ISO image Mandrake90-cd2-ext.i586.iso which
you want to burn your 2nd CD with.

For further study do 'man mkisofs'

And you can't imagine how unhappy this other guy was when he realized
that a distribution doesn't come on floppy images any more.

Realize that time goes on and you can't be backwards-compatible with
everything for all times. 700M CDs are that usual by now that you have
to do a thorough search for 650M CDs in some stores until you find
some.

It has it's good sides, too. You have here an excellent example what
happens if you do something without getting proper information first.

The issue about the sizes of the CDs has been around in the newsgroup
and in all mailinglists and in MandrakeForum, etc. from day 1.

Now do what I wrote above to get you going and try to do a bit more
researching before you do something next time.
