hans, did you have a look at YP (NIS)? the difference is that you have all the users on one server, not on different boxes, and all the users get their userinformation from that server, no matter from which box you are logging in. for a description see the packages in Mandrake Control Center: - ypserv - yp-tools - ypbind regards andreas
