Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try that at work. I guess it doesn't default loaded. I just checked my 8.2 box and it didn't have the /dev/loop either. I did a modprobe loop and bam... there they are, so it is much more simple than I anticipated. My guess is that it will work on the 9.0 box at work as well. I could have sworn I tried that though arleady. Musta got sidetracked.
