Try temporarily putting your CD-RW drive on an IDE channel all by
itself, as master, of course. How many IDE channels do you have and
what devices placed where? You should never have the hard disk with
the ISO file to burn and the CD-RW on the same IDE channel.
There was a motherboard chipset problem that garbled the data if two
devices on the same IDE channel were in use concurrently. But that
should be coped with in the Mandrake 9.0 kernel.
However it's worth a try.
