Hi,
Regarding these text copying woes, I have been trying to nail down the
problem, and I did something a little counter intuitive using KDE and
not just Gnome:
1. I'm running in the gnome environment
2. opened the 25 KB file in gedit; select all, copy
3. tried pasting into openoffice, after a long pause got
"requested clipboard format not available"
4. repeated procedure with galeon and mozilla: nothing pasted,
no error message
5. repeated procedure with konqueror: pasted as one would expect
6. repeated procedure with kate: pasted as one would expect.
But then I went from kate (ctrl-A, ctrl-C) into mozilla and
it worked! It also worked from kate to openoffice. So it's
not a mozilla bug... but some kind of obscure gnome bug? I'm
not sure what I should even report ;-)
Thanks for everyone's feedback and suggestions. I'm sure glad I didn't
submit a mozilla bug!
