i'm experimenting with a perl module (lwp:simple) with the following commandline:
perl -MLWP::Simple -e "getprint 'http://cpan.org/RECENT'" i'm going through a firewall and get the 500 error (paraphrased): 500 Can't connect to network.path.som:30080 (Bad hostname 'network.path.som') <URL:http://cpan.org/RECENT> i entered .som instead of .com. i found bad entries in /etc/profile.d/proxy.sh and .csh and corrected those but i'm still getting the same error. is there another place that mistyped name may be stored, or do i need to restart some part of networking to reread those files? if so, which deamon/program? thanks, joe
