The DHCP config was generated by the wizard and the named.conf also and are pretty standard in this regards... so why don't I have DNS? It is mandatory on this small home network because it is a pilot cluster project albiet a simplified one designed to abstract a more complex one.
Oddly enough, Mandrake 9.0's Internet Connection Shareing is working just fine and although my cleints cannot ping the DNS server by name, I can still write you this email through a web browser on an XP client.
Is it possible that my DNS queries are being highjacked by Internet Connection Shareing and tossed out onto my ISPs network? This would be bad.
Answer: No. See below.
So the problem is that I cannot ping the server but I can indeed reach the clients. I'm thinking that the wizard is not properly setting up the *.db file.Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
