I'm running 8.2 (by now ;-) ... but, if I do ps-ax it says:

panel --sm-config-prefix /panel.d/default-AAAA/ --sm-client-id BBBB
(where AAAA and BBBB are someting similar to a pseudorandom string that
I replaced just in case it's a security issue O:-)

Check again the parameters of it as grep will cut them. If you do ps -ax
and search manually you'll probably see there were more options passed
to it.
