i dont know if we got the same problem. when i upgraded to mdk 9, i didnt format my /home dir which contains all my previous KDE, X, mozilla settings for 8.2.
when i started up KDE on mdk 9 there was weird displays and a lot of stuff on the menu are not working. in mozilla, i click send button to send the mail and mozilla just crashes. same when i hit ANY button. then i thought of deleting the old settings ~/.mozilla, ~/.kde etc ... worked well afterwards. dm --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Well, this folows up from a previous post about mc. > mc wasn't the real problem. > > I've had to disable gpm in my brand new 9.0 > installation, XFree 4.2, > because it seems to be broken. > > All gpm seems to do in text console mode is make a > large white rectangle > which moves with the mouse but doesn't do anything > useful, i.e. will not > highlight and select text so that I can copy and > paste. > > Also, with gpm enabled mc will work only as root; as > normal user it > seems to be working but the screen fills up with > what seem to be gpm > debug or error messages. > > Needless to say everything works perfectly with > mandrake 8.2 on a > different partition of the same machine. > > Has anyone else had this problem ? > How could I go about debugging this ? > > -- > Michele Alzetta > > > > Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? > > Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com > __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
