  Put the spamassassin box before the VMS box in the In route...hell,
  you could actually substitute the webshield box, by running an
  antivirus on the linux box, so you'd do the spam and virus check on
  the same host before sending it out to the VMS box.

  I've never actually done this (I don't have any non-linux mail
  servers), but it should work without much complication.
