Hello there, I've installed Mandrake 9.0 and I've noticed that the system every 10 minutes does something like "apm suspend" mode for few seconds. I've posted few e-mails and I come to the conclusion that somehow the kernel things my system is ... SMP with a single CPU.
Anyway, I've installed kernel-linus and the problem is gone BUT I found that my zip and cdrom do work properly now ;-( What is the difference between all these linux kernels? is there any boot parameter that I can pass to kernel (not the linus one) so it does not go to SMP "mode"? If I recomplile the kernel without SMP flags on will the problem go? Regards Panos -- +++ GMX - Mail, Messaging & more http://www.gmx.net +++ NEU: Mit GMX ins Internet.
