<SIGH>
If anyone asks why I don't keep my systems upgraded... the answer is
simple: MandrakeUpdate has not worked for me since LM8.1
</SIGH>

Tonight, I've been trying to update 9.0 on my ThinkPad...

Problems:

* unable to connect to mirrors MOST of the time.

* decided to try to upgrade harddrake first -- after a couple of attempts
(getting connect failures on some packages), I got a *Succeeded* message;
YET...
# rpm -qa | grep harddrake
harddrake-ui-1.1.9-53mdk
harddrake-1.1.9-53mdk
# ls /mnt/cdrom/M*/R*/harddrake*
/mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS/harddrake-1.1.9-53mdk.i586.rpm*
/mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS/harddrake-ui-1.1.9-53mdk.i586.rpm*
Looks like the SAME version to me -- AKA: NOT upgraded.

* at some point, MU decided that it would pick one mirror and quit asking.
 Reset this via S/w Sources Mgr

* Now, no matter which mirror I select, I'm now unable to connect to any;
I keep getting:
# unable to take medium "Updates for Mandrake Linux 8.2 (ftp1u)" into
account as no list file [/var/lib/urpmi/list.Updates for Mandrake Linux
8.2 (ftp1u)] exists
medium "update_source" already exists
---> 8.2?????????

I can understand the odd error; but this looks like MU's error handling
wasn't even tested...
