Having received no responses, I thought that a reasonable thing to try
would be to use rpm to completely remove _all_ packages containing "gcc",
and then simply re-install the LM 9.0 gcc 3.2 packages.

BUT even after removing the gcc packages, I can still type "g++ -v" and get
back the response that the version is a 2.95.x version.

So I guess I have a very basic question. How do I eradicate all trace off
gcc from my system (so that I can then install the LM 9.0 gcc 3.2 rpms).
Iy's obvious that MCC isn't doing the job for me, so how can I remove the
files manually?

I looked at a bunch of places on the GNU site, but didn't find anything
that helped.

I could (obviously) remove the g++ binary, but then I am sure that I would
be leaving lots of other files that could cause me trouble later. I want to
completely eliminate gcc so that I can then be sure that there aren't any
old files hanging around when I do the gcc 3.2 installation.
