I need to unmount my /var filesystem so that I can use diskdrake to resize
it. I've gone to init level 1 (single user mode), which kills all
processes that should be using it (like syslog), but even then, any attempt
to unmount /var gets a "it's busy" message. I don't know *what* it could
be busy with, since the various daemons which log stuff there are shut
down.

/var is the last filesystem on my disk, and I've got some empty space at
the end of that disk. I want to expand the size of /var to fill that
space. Starting point on the disk will be the same - I don't want to move
it, just resize it to make it a bit bigger. To the best of my knowledge,
you have to unmount a filesystem before you can resize it. So for the
moment, I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
